Dr. Vimala Kamalodeen is a faculty member at the School of Education, University of the West Indies in Trinidad, West Indies where she specializes in Math and Computer Science education. She became interested in mixed methods research while doing her doctoral studies at the University of Sheffield, UK. Her thesis used a complex mixed methods design focusing on hybrid data from an educational online social networking. Vimala is currently engaged in mixed methods research at her institution in Game based learning and successfully hosted the 3rd regional mixed methods conference in the Caribbean earlier this year. Dr. Kamalodeen is the Immediate Past President of the Caribbean chapter of Mixed Methods International Research Association. She is also the founding President of the professional learning network of teachers - ITTPN GLOBAL. She engages in educational activities that enhances the skills, knowlege and attitudes of educators while building trust and community in her work.
