Dr. Allen's specialties rest in geography, (urban & cultural) geomorphology, landscape studies, rock decay (weathering), and humanistic geography. He enjoys dragging students into the field to help them better understand the intersection of landscapes, landforms, and life. His teaching includes Landform Dynamics, Earth-Life Cycles, Urban Geomorphology, and Natural Hazards. Research-wise, he has published a few books -- including Landscapes and Landforms of the Lesser Antilles (Springer) -- and over 60 peer-reveiwed journal articles and book chapters.
