Biography/Responsibilities/Duties:

Dr. Oshaine Blake is a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West Indies. He is an expert in geophysics, geomechanics, and rock physics. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Liverpool after receiving his PhD in Earth Sciences from the same institution. His area of research includes reservoir characterization, unconventional reservoirs, geothermal energy, mud volcanoes, wellbore stability analysis, carbon capture and sequestration, hydrogen storage, static and dynamic elastic properties, deformation bands, and fault reactivation. He recently established three world-class facilities in the Petroleum Studies Unit, Department of Chemical Engineering: Geomechanics and Rock Physics Laboratory, Rock Preparation Workshop, and Thin Section Laboratory. He has over 25 publications in prestigious, peer-reviewed, high impact international journals.
