Suzanne is an interdisciplinary coral reef scientist and lecturer in Coral Reef Ecology at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus and the Academic Coordinator for the UWI Port Royal Marine Laboratory.
Suzanne gained a PhD in Coral Reef Geosciences (2009) on coral reefs located on the inner shelf of the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Since 2010 she has been working in Jamaica on a range of environmental and climate change research projects including work on the mangrove lagoons in Hellshire, the ecology and health of coral reefs within the Portland Bight Protected Area and Port Royal Cays, and coral restoration effrots on the north and south coast of Jamaica. She is a PADIĀ Open Water Scuba Instructor, IANTD Cavern diver, Atlantic Gulf Rapid Reef Asessment (AGRRA) train the trainer, and is passionate about introducing students to the underwater world.
