The Psychology of Adolescent Violence, School Enagagement, Psychological Health of At-risk Adolescents, Child Maltreatment
Ms. Mala Ramesar is employed as an Instructor with the Department of Behavioural Sciences at The University of the West Indies and, is currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology with a concentration in juvenile delinquency. Her primary research interest is in the areas of the psychology of adolescent violence, which includes an exploration of the role of Callous Unemotional traits, child maltreatment, recidivism among youth offenders, and school (dis)engagement. She is keen on using a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding these behaviours with a focus on improving the quality of life of younger populations with problematic behaviours.
