Martin Hughes is a Jamaican national, currently working in the Department of Food Production, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine (UWI STA) campus as a lecturer of Livestock Science. Martin earned a BSc (First Class Hons) in Agriculture (2008) and Ph.D. in Livestock Science (2016) from The UWI STA. He is presently the coordinator of the MSc Tropical Animal Science and Production programme and sub-editor for the South African Journal of Animal Science. Previously, he worked as an agronomist in the private sector in T&T and as an environmental conservationist for several NGOs in Jamaica. His areas of specialization include forage management and utilization and nutritional biochemistry of the ruminant animal. His ongoing research programmes are focused on:
