Jessica Lewis Marshall is currently the Deputy Librarian - Public Service, Outreach, and Special Projects at The University of the West Indies, Mona Library. With a career spanning over two decades, Jessica has held roles in libraries across the Caribbean, consistently demonstrating a commitment to excellence in the field of librarianship.
Previously, she served as the Head of West Indies and Special Collections, as well as the Coordinator in the Mona Information Literacy Unit, Loan, and Reference Department at The University of the West Indies, Mona, Main Library. Jessica's experience extends to the Caribbean region, where she contributed to the National Library of Jamaica as the Coordinator for Research and Information. She also held the post of Deputy Director – Branch Libraries in the public library system of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. She also served as a Liaison Librarian for the Faculty of Humanities and Education at the University of the West Indies, UWI, Cave Hill Main Library in Barbados.
Throughout her career, Jessica has cultivated expertise in relationship building, collaboration, and optimizing the user experience. Her commitment to effective instruction is evident in her role as an Information Literacy (IL)/ Teaching Librarian. As an enthusiastic advocate for IL, Jessica ensures the promotion of research skills, information fluency, and empowerment among students and university stakeholders.
