La Daana Kanhai is a scientist/lecturer in the Department of Life Sciences, The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad. La Daana's research focuses on the broad area of environmental science. From 2015 onwards, La Daana’s research focused on the issue of plastic pollution in the Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Presently, her research is focused on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Caribbean.
