André Coy is a lecturer in the Department of Physics at the University of the West Indies, Mona. His primary interests include speech and language technologies and their application to education, computer assisted language learning, machine learning, artificial intelligence and assistive technologies. Additionally, Dr. Coy uses signal processing techniques for pattern recognition in agriculture, health applications, weather and climate.
Dr. Coy’s current work includes the development of an intelligent, automated literacy tutor for use in primary schools, developing techniques for testing hearing aid technologies and inclusive technologies for deaf education.
