Second/Foreign Language Assessment, Second/Foreing Language Education, ELT & Global Englishes
Rómulo Guédez-Fernández has an MA in Linguistics for English language (TESOL) from The University of the West Indies (UWI), St Augustine campus. Trinidad & Tobago, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in Linguistics (in the area of second language assessment). He is a Foreign Language Instructor (Spanish) and lecturers in the TESOL Programme at The UWI. He has been involved in second/foreign language education for about twenty years and taught on introductory Language Assessment and TESOL Teaching Practicum courses.
His main research interest includes English/Spanish Language Teaching, Global Englishes, Content and language integrated learning (CLIL) and teacher education, Translanguaging Pedagogy, second/foreign language assessment.
He is also involved in Community Engagement, with a special focus on university students’ awareness to their contribution in enhancing the standards of living of the most in need in Trinidad and Tobago
