Intermediate to Expert Level; Hands-on training at Workshop In order to take proper action to minimise both potential casualties and damages, access to the right tools is essential. Traditionally, 2D models have been applied for coastal flooding studies, as the water column under such conditions often is well-mixed. This makes our MIKE 21, or alternatively MIKE FLOOD software the suitable choice. MIKE 21 is an extremely powerful and efficient tool and has been used successfully in hundreds of coastal flooding studies for more than 35 years. Only for applications near the continental shelf and in presence of a strong, distinct stratification or buoyancy driven current, you may benefit from using a 3D modelling approach such as our MIKE 3 software.
