Member of the Executive of the National Food and Nutrition Coordinating Committee, Chairman 2004-2007


The National Food and Nutrition Coordinating Committee (Chairman 2004-2007), the umbrella organization for the promotion of improvement in household food availability and nutritional status, particularly for vulnerable groups in the population, through the mobilization and coordination of resources at the national, community and household levels. The activities include coordination, training, research and information dissemination, funded though contributions mainly from private sector firms and grants from regional institutions and international organizations. Coordinated grants from the CHASE Foundation in the sum of J$638,000 and J$650,000 for the NFNCCJ in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Culture and the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute to carry out the Schools’ Nutrition Quiz across Jamaica.
